Qsynth1: Failed to create the audio driver (alsa)

I've installed both fluidsynth and qsynth, but get this error everytime I run qsynth. I'm trying to use my m-audio keyrig 49 just to practice playing the piano. I don't really care about having a whole DAW and whatever, I just want to play my keyboard. Maybe there is a better way than qsynth?

Also, this happens:
Code:
/etc/rc.d/rc.alsa restart
Loading ALSA mixer settings: /usr/sbin/alsactl restore
No state is present for card K49
Unknown hardware: "USB-Audio" "USB Mixer" "USB0763:019b" "" ""
Hardware is initialized using a guess method
No state is present for card K49
I don't know that it has to do with my qsynth problem or not. I just thought I'd throw it in just in case it does.

Also, xmms recognizes my keyboard in the alsa preferences, where the mixer device is.

Is sound not working or are you just concerned about the message?

ALSA motto: working to bring you a quieter world. (j/k)

Well, I want to play my keyboard. M-Audio KeyRig 49: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/KeyRig49.html. Alsa is working fine. At least, xmms plays fine.

Have you seen this ?

http://usb-midi-fw.sourceforge.net/

It seems that this firmware is supposed to work with your device. I don't have such a keyboard however, so I don't speak from experience. I just did a google search.
