Unhappy Qmail-password errors with telnet 110

Hey all,
Got a bit of a problem with Qmail.
I've been following the install guide, and I've managed to
get to "part 11", but when I try to [telnet localhost 110].
It's not taking my passwords.
This is all the info I could think of providing;

This is what I'm seeing;

# telnet localhost 110
Connected to localhost.
Escape character is '^]'.
pass password
-ERR Authentication failed (bad password?)
Connection closed by foreign host.

The right ports seem to be open.

# nmap localhost
21/tcp open ftp
22/tcp open ssh
25/tcp open smtp
37/tcp open time
80/tcp open http
110/tcp open pop3
111/tcp open rpcbind
113/tcp open auth
139/tcp open netbios-ssn
143/tcp open imap
445/tcp open microsoft-ds
631/tcp open ipp
901/tcp open samba-swat
6000/tcp open X11

Qmail seems to be up and running.

# qmailctl stat
/service/qmail-send: up (pid 29200) 51400 seconds
/service/qmail-send/log: up (pid 29201) 51400 seconds
/service/qmail-smtpd: up (pid 29204) 51400 seconds
/service/qmail-smtpd/log: up (pid 29206) 51400 seconds
/service/qmail-pop3d: up (pid 18039) 1 seconds
/service/qmail-pop3d/log: up (pid 29214) 51400 seconds
messages in queue: 0
messages in queue but not yet preprocessed: 0

But in the logs I see a ton of this error, and I'm at a loss.

@4000000041fad20123ff0104 tcpserver: fatal: unable to bind: address already used

This has become very frustrating, any help would be appreciated.

Check to see if any other pop3 service is started and the one you are connecting to is qmail-pop3d or not.

I found the problem, "inetd.conf".
I had uncommented pop3 and imap.
When I commented those out again everything was fine.

Thanks again,
