qmail log says mail delivered, mail nowhere to be found

I've just installed qmail on my RedHat 9 system, using the "Life With QMail" installation instructions, including using ucspi-tcp and daemontools, dot-forward and qmail-pop3d.

---the latter two required editing the .c files to include errno.h before the make would complete without errors. Anybody else get this?---

I tried to send mail to myself locally, like the TEST.deliver (or whatever it's called. I'm not at my box right now to check) file says, and the logs report success, but I can't find the mail.

I am using the ./Maildir/ format, though I was using /var/spool/mail/user first. I have tried sending mail using "echo to: me | /var/qmail/qmail-inject" and using /bin/mail, and reading mail using mail and actually doing an ls on the ~/me/Maildir/new and /var/spool/mail/user dirs, but can't find any mail anywhere.

Help anybody?
