qmail ignores aliases with DASHES (-) in them.. why?

my qmail installation seems to work perfect. Everyone can send and recieve their mail (with qpopper) and everyone is happy.

But whenever I try to add an alias with a dash in it, such as master-rambo@myhost.net, and send a message to it, I get the "mailbox doesn't exist" error.

However, mailer-daemon seems to work just fine (it's pointing to my mailbox)...

Any idea what could be the problem?

(I am running Fedora 1, latest qmail, using /var/spool/mail, and standard qmail alias mechanism)
