I'm trying to install qemu-0.8.0 on my Suse 10.0. I decompress the tar.gz file and run the configure file. I get this error message: QEMU is known to have problems when compiled with gcc 4.x It is recommended that you use gcc 3.x to build QEMU To use this compiler anyway, configure with --disable-gcc-check I want to use qemu to install windows xp and other OS's that I might get when i'm in college (Majoring in networking) I get alot of trial OS's. I also wish to install kqemu. Ps. I'm new to linux but i'm gaining knowlage quickly because of my Unix class in college so I may ask maany questions.

I just installed anyting that has to do with gcc but still i have nothing.

Just go to the QEMU site, download the binaries (version 0.8), and untar the tar.gz file into / (which will put them in /usr/local/bin). They work!
