Python IDLE - Mouse Doesn't Work

My mouse is fully functional, however I can't use it inside the text or shell windows of my python IDLE, which is kind of frustrating when I'm throwing code around and troubleshooting new software. I haven't had this issue before on other computers or distros, so this is a new one to me. Suggestions?

Maybe you need to install the gpm package?
