Python 2.3 IDLE won't load...

Hi,

I'm running Fedora Core 3, and Python 2.3. I can run 'python' which gives me the 'realtime' version of the editor, but when i run 'idle' the editor doesn't load...

Can anyone explain why this is? Does IDLE have to be downloaded as well as Python 2.3? I thought Python 2.3 came with IDLE.

Anyway, I'd appreciate the response.

Arpanet.

I think it's installed seperately as part of python-tools or something similar. Some distros package it as tkinter.

IDLE - an Integrated DeveLopment Environment for Python
A stable version of IDLE is now being distributed with each Python distribution. Unix users should check the Tools/idle/ subdirectory of the source distribution; Windows users should look under Start -> Programs -> Python -> IDLE.
