PySol problems with Xubuntu 9.04
Hiya, folks! I've got a SLIGHT problem with PySol, running under Xubuntu 9.04--no sound! I've got pysol-sounds and pysol-sounds-server installed, and I've even tried re-installing all 3 packages. I've also tried to install PySolFC, but although I have the archive dpownloaded and extracted, I can't seem to get Python to recognize it, let alone run it! Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

You can not have Pysol and PysolFC at the same time.
If ypu play a cd or else do you have sound working ? |
Pysol :
Toolbar : Options > "Sound" > > Sound Settings Is sound enabled ? And volume controls on maximum ? |
Yes to all of the above!
Yes to all of these questions. One possible glitch, though: Before I can get ANY sound for ANY applications, I have to go into "ALSAmixerGUI," activate the "Master" channel, lock the two sliders together, and then move the sliders all the way to the top. I can't recall EVER having to do that with version 8.10! (BTW, I'm using an IBM ThinkPad A20m with a PIII@700 Mhz., 512 MB of RAM, and a 120 GB hard drive. The sound chip shown in ALSAmixergui is "PulseAudio."
I'll remove one or the other version as soon as I can find out how to remedy the sound problem. Thanks! Tom Nichol |
