PVMPOV-Ray setup problem on Slackware 9.0

Following the setup instruction at pvmpov@sourceforge website lead me to get an error msg which is " -bash: aimk: command no found" when I type "aimk newunix" to compile it..I've read that 'aimk' is a command provide by PVM library..

as far as i'm concern,my PVM installation went just right...and i'm using bash type shell..or is it something gotta do with exporting the library from PVM_ROOT to be use by the shell so that the shell can execute the command 'aimk'?..if this is the case,I tried to find .bashrc file but the file is not exist so I created it by adding the following to the file :

PVM_ROOT=$HOME/pvm3
export PVM_ROOT

after that,I got error when try to compile PVM..so I just type the above directly in the console and the PVM successfully compiled..

what is the problem really?..pls help

well, i thnk im a little late in replying..if u havent hit upon the answer urself..

aimk is a wrapper script located in /usr/share/pvm3/lib

just copy it to one of ur $PATH directories..then everything will work..

eg.
cp /usr/share/pvm3/lib/aimk /bin

hi there

funkymunky, I did nothing much with MPI, just a simple 4 node cluster demonstration using 'pmandel' and 'cpilog' program. Both are given with MPICH. But the real trick for me as a newbie is to get the ssh working rather than using the simple yet unreliable rsh.
