PV-149 Ubuntu Zoneminder

I have a ubuntu system using a pv-149 card with 6 cameras
Zoneminder works great everyday it doesnt matter what time of the day the cameras stop recording and when you look at the source on the zoneminder screen the /dev/video2 for example turns red. I have adjusted the max frames per second but that doesnt make any difference. It switches from camera to camera, very strange! I had this working on another system perfectly and had to reinstall zoneminder on a new system and cant understand why it is doing this. When I do a montage view I can see some of the cameras say," alarm 40 frames per second" Even though I set the max frame per second to 10. I can understand where I went wrong help!
