Put a date/time from the command line

Hi I usually use the system tools to change date and time however I want to learn how to do this from the command line.

I think that date is the command for it but I see it commonly just giving me a stout but I want to know how to get it in the system.

Can anyone put the command line - line as an example to reset the clock to 00:00

Thanks.... btw yes I read the man, but couldn't make sense of it for setting it in the system.

as a plus can anyone tell me how to change the timezone. Regards.

date <Month><Day><Hour><Minute><Century><Year>

date 100300002007

for the timezone you could try tzconfig or tzsetup
