Pure ftpd on OES2 sp1 server with NSS volume - Can't log on to server at all

Good afternoon!

I have an SUSE 10 sp host with VMWARE 2.1 and a virtual machine OES2 sp1 with NSS enabled volumes. I have enabled the hardlinks to the NSS volumes. I have read the Novell "LUM enabling pure-ftpd Quick and Easy" (tongue in cheek) document and applied all of the settings they suggested. I finally was able to see that ftp server is working, but it only shows this:

FTP root at 10.0.10.22
To view this FTP site in Windows Explorer, click Page, and then click Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer.

I have given rights to the folder that needs to be used but I can't see it. What should I do now? It is an NSS volume so is there something special that needs to be done? I am able to get to the ftp server, but I cannot see the folders. At the bottom of the screen, it shows user: anonymous. How do I try to login to ftp server with my nds user I have enabled for LUM? I have given rf rights to ftp user but can't see any folders. This is frustrating. My ftp on Netware just works perfectly. Changing to linux is like taking 10 steps backward as far as configuring objects is concerned (or so it seems until I learn what to do). AUGHHHHHHH! I have been trying for a week to get this to work to no avail. Please help.

Thanks for help in advance!

Well, I don't know a lot about your particular setup, but ftp & http are 2 different protocols.
You can share a dir between them if you know how (which is what you seem to be expecting), but you'll need both servers.
I'd start by trying to contact the ftp server from the cmd line just to make sure you've got it setup correctly.
When you've got that sorted, THEN you can look at adding http.

PURE FTPD not working

When I try to login to ftp://ip address, this is the message I get:

FTP Folder Error

Windows cannot access this folder. make sure you typed the file name correctly and that ;you have permission to access the folder.

Details:

220-Welcome to Pure-FTPd
220-Your are user number 1 of 10 allowed.
220-This is a private system - No anonymous login
220 -IPv6 connections are also welcome on this server.
220-You will be disconnected after 15 minutes of inactivity.
530-This ia a private system - No anonymous login

when I right click and use login as then use my nds credentials, it says it could not login to the FTO serve with the user name and password. I am able to login to the oes2 server with the same credentials, so I know ldap is working.

Please help.
