PulseAudio breaks KDEnlive

After trying for an hour to figure out why my KDEnlive was no longer playing sound, I realized that, since the last time I used it, I installed PulseAudio so that I could watch multimedia using the new Netscape. After removing PulseAudio, KDEnlive plays sound again.

I have always had problems with PulseAudio since the very beginning. Is there a fix for this, or should I just go back to avoiding it like I have for the past several years?

And if that is the recommendation, then I would need help getting Firefox 50.0.2 to play sound. After I removed PulseAudio I downgraded Firefox. KDElive now plays sound, but Firefox doesn't.

OpenSUSE - 13.2
KDEnlive - 0.9.10
PulseAudio - whatever version installs when you use zypper in OpenSUSE 13.2

Thanks in advance!
