pull-down menu items blank in java app
 

i'm using a java app where the pull-down menu items are blank. they do work, it's just that finding the right one is a trial-and-error process by judging how far down the blank list to click the mouse. this is very annoying. how can i get the menu item text to display?

this is an app for which i am a user, not a developer (don't have access to the source code) so the solution needs to be something that effects the java runtime. i'm using firefox v1.0 with java j2re-1_4_2_06.

i think this might be a problem with the font size being too large, is there a way to change the font size for text in java applets?

problem solved. i just installed jre1.5.0_01 and it works.
