Public School Library software

I am looking for some Open Source alternative software to use in a Public school system for the Library. Specifically it is a searchable database for books, ISBN numbers, descriptions, students that check out books, overdues, etc. I could start a project making a database (PostreSQL) to do this but before I do so I'd like to see if there is anything out there that can be adapted for use.
