pty problems with ssh server

G'Day,

I am running a ssh server (dropbear) on an embedded system (2.6.14). When I try to connect to the system, it will seem to hang on a successful log-in. I have since found out that it is some kind of a pty issue by using the following command from the client end:

$ ssh -T sshuser@ip "echo testing123"

The system returned `testing123', thus showing that it is working.

Disabling pseudo-tty mode is not overly useful to me, however, so I would like to do whatever is necessary to get it to work properly. Does anyone know what the likely cause(s) of such a problem could be?

I knew there would be some little thing I had not thought to check! I do not use udev, but now have ptyp0 and ttyp0 with a+r, which seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for your prompt and useful, er, prompting
