If you mean the circuit design program, there are open source alternatives.
Some tools that might come in handy for you (in no particular order): http://opencircuitdesign.com/xcircuit/ http://www.cise.ufl.edu/research/sparse/klu/ http://bwrc.eecs.berkeley.edu/Classes/IcBook/SPICE/ http://qucs.sourceforge.net/screenshots.html http://pcb.sourceforge.net/ http://oregano.gforge.lug.fi.uba.ar/ http://ngspice.sourceforge.net http://sourceforge.net/projects/ktechlab/ http://www.a-rostin.de/klogic/ http://www.gnucap.org/ http://www.gnu.org/software/electric/electric.html http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~lazzaro/chipmunk/ http://avarice.sourceforge.net/ I hope that there's something useful for you there ;) EDIT: Also is seems like proteus is well supported on wine, if you really preffer to use it. http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...rsion&iId=9846 |
and http://www.geda.seul.org/
and for this general area there is a sub-section here http://sal.jyu.fi/index.shtml (btw, if you requirements are mainstream, I'd probably give electric a miss; while I haven't looked at iot for over a couple of year, its a perfectly good program for the application for which it is designed (IC layout), it didn't seem very easy to learn for more mainstream purposes)) |
gEDA
This is the best option i have used .. pretty good. available in the ubuntu software center or visit gpleda.org
