Proper way to backport File Manager or Desktop Environment in Debian 9?
Hi.
What would be the proper way to backport a File Manager or Desktop Environment in Debian 9? For example, if I backport mate-desktop, many mate packages still don't get backported. This seems like a stability issue. The same goes for caja. There are so many other packages - would it even be worth the risk? Thanks. |
My advice is don't, unless you really know what you are about. And if you did, you'd hardly be asking.
Why Debian 9? |

Ok, I will leave be. I like Debian 9 Stable for it's stability (I use the odd backport but err on the side of caution), community, security, etc. |
