prompt based calendar program? Calendar?

Hello,
Under AIX (Unix) we used to use the "calendar" command. Basically it looked at /home/username/calendar, and hunted for events (a single line with a date in it somewhere, various formats), and displayed events for this week.

Anything like "calendar" that I can install on Red Hat (we're
using 6.2, moving up soon).
