Project Looking Glass
Hey Everyone,
I was surfing the Sun website I and stumbled upon the Project Looking Glass. I am going to switch to LG as soon as I get my Fedora system up. I know that this isn't really a question but I think that we as a Linux community should at least check it out. I think it is the future contender with GNOME and KDE. The website is https://lg3d.dev.java.net/ Check it out and give me your feedback iam_techno |
looking past looking glass
I've tried the Livecd for looking glass, and it ran like a pig on a decently spec'ed machine. Totally unusable. Beryl on Ubuntu, however, is something beautiful, and already works.

combat,
What specs does you computer have? What do you mean by unstable? I have tried Compiz on my Fedora Core 6 and was generally impressed. My computer is a P4 1.6GHz (soon to be 2.8GHZ) with 1GB Ram and 256MB Ati Radeon 9500. When reading the setup guide it mentions running the latest DRI drivers, did you have that? Otherwise were you impressed by LG3D? iam_techno |
