Programs won't run using clean Mandrake 9.2 insatll

I've just installed my version of mandrake 9.2 on my server (dual PII 450, 256 mb RAM), and I've installed a lot of other applications (like OpenOffice, the development tools, and of course: the games).

But if I try to run some of those apps, using the KDE-menu, they're loading in the bottom of the screen, and after about 10 seconds the load icon (the one with the sandglass) disappears, but NO applications appears!

What am I doing wrong (I've even reinstalled Linux!)

Try running them from a terminal so you can see any errors that pop up.

Then post the errors here.
