Program to Xfer iPod to local directory

Hey i have a fairly simple problem. I want to transfer all my iPod songs to my laptop, in a human readable manner. Background: I recently got rid of XP on my laptop and now use only linux. On XP the iTunes program would organize all the bands into their own folders for easy directory-level finding of bands/albums. Now i've installed GTKPOD and I can mount my iPod and physically transfer my music to my home directory but its all in those horribly mixed up f00, f01, f02...folders. I just need a program that will suck out my mp3s to my local directory in human readable format, like iTunes would do for me. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
