Program to make or edit websites?
 

Is there anything similar to frontpage for linux, that allows me to easy modify html not program, but more design and edit websites?

There are tons - Nvu, Quanta+, Screem and Bluefish just to name a couple.

Thanks, for me not to install all of them which do you suggest to be the easiest to work with?

It depends on what you want to do. I've never used Frontpage, but if that's the functionality you're looking for, could you please describe it?

Off the top of my head, though, I'm thinking Nvu and/or Quanta+ might be your best bet.

Well, i just got my apache server up so i wanted to play with it little bit just easy and simply things :rolleyes:
It would be favorable to have pre-designed templates, sounds, pictures etc.. I don't know how to code so that doesn't really matter.

When I switched from Windows to UNIX and Linux (almost 13 years ago), I used Nvu as I had only ever used Dreamweaver, but I remember it always being a bit sluggish.

Quanta+ is nice and quick, and I'm pretty sure you can do some WYSIWYG editing - ie. it's not just an extended HTML editor with syntax highlighting.

I think that the OP is looking for a wysiwyg environment. I use text editors for web development, and I think it's the way to go. But I doubt we will change his mind, so it's better to stay on topic. I don't think he cares how many of us use vim.

The only frontpage/dreamweaber alikes for linux are nvu, and to a certain degree, amaya.

I don't know about frontpage, but many dreamweaber versions do work ok under wine, so maybe you are interested in taking a look at the wine database:
