Most linux systems do a similar thing, they can get installed in different places depended on what it is and how you installed it. But you can make short cuts to them in a similar way windows does. I'm not familiar with xandros, but is there some installer tool you used that installed something for you and you're having trouble finding it? If you're using kde, you should have konqueror, it might be just labeled home files or something like that, but its the thing you browse files with like windows explorer (konqueror is also a full fledged internet browser too) With that you can search for the file, maybe its in -->tools-->find file With that, if you are not sure of the exact name, I believe if you search for a part of the name, surrounded with * it will find it. So if I wanted to find a file called supertux.jpg I could search for *tux* or *super* or *upertu* in konqueror and it would find it. If you are looking for an app to launch, its probably going to be in a /bin directory somewhere, just us know what you're looking for and we'll help ya find it, and any other questions. I went through the same stuff, and I still am a little bit, the directory layout in linux is a bit daunting and confusing
