program constantly using all the CPU available

hi, i'm running a mandriva 2006 on a PIII 800 with 384 mo RAM.

My computer seemed to be slow so I made a "top" and I discovered that a program takes all the cpu he can take.

this program is "kio_fulltext"

ps PID returns: kio_fulltext [kdeinit] fulltext /home/myusername/tmp/ksocke

can u tell me more about this?

thanks

Kio_fulltext is part of Kde's caching procedure, used by Kat, a full indexing service that enables for instance thumbnails on files.

If you do not need it, I guess one can disable it from the 'Control Center' of Kde.

I can tell you that the process belongs to the kat program. Maybe there's a bug [shrug ].
