Program Associations

I am using RH9 with KDE 3.1.4. Right now when I click to play an Mp3 it opens with Kaboodle and instantly crashes. I have XMMS installed and plays Mp3's fine, but I want to make XMMS the default player in KDE, how can I do this?

KDE Control Center -> Components -> File Associations.

Thanks wuck, I'm so use to windows sometimes it takes a while to find where everything is located. Thank God for LQs and helpful people like yourself.

Another way is to right click on the file > properties > Associate Application > then it will give you alittle text box to type in.
Well easy as pie - you just type the command that starts your program ~ ie:
xmms [for audios]
or:
mplayer/gmplayer [for your movies]
or:
acroread [for pdf files]

et cetera ~ this can be very useful if the program you want to associate does not install itself into the X menu.
