ProFTPd sharing

Hi,
I have this dumb basic question... my FTP server is running allright... now: how can I make some folder on my HDD to be shared with other users? (I'd like to allow downloadnig some of my files when they connects to my FTP...)

Symbolic links doesn't work...

Symbolic links should work but if these are users that will only have FTP access and no shell access, just set their home directories to the shared directory and make it so their all part of the same group with read/write access, etc.
