proftpd Log-in users

Hi I am trying to get an ftp server up and running using ProFTP. I so far have got the server up and running just fine, but thats not the problem. I am having log-in issues with certen users. The users that are unable to log-in are users that I created in the terminal and not the GUI user creation tool. I have set a password and set the shell for each user to /bin/false and I have no idea why they get a log-in faled message when they try to log-in. Is there anything that I have to do to allow these users to log-in threw the ftp server.

God I lover when this happens. You think you give up and then post in the forums for help, and you find your answer. I guess my problem was that I needed to add the shell /bin/false to the /etc/shells file. After adding the line the log-ins worked just fine.
