ProFTPd erron on the "./configure"


Hello,

I am trying to install ProFTPd on SuSE 9.0 and when i go to configure it i get this error

checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking for gcc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cc... no
checking for cl... no
configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH

I have been looking for an answer but just cant get one that helps, so i needed to ask.

well i don't know how suse's packaging system works, so all i can really say is, check and see if gcc is installed ...
if it is not, then you will have to install it ...

Well, from looking at your error messages...yes, you need gcc installed in order to compile.
