Can someone please guide me through the steps of
using procmail to remove spam before it leaves my designated mail
server. I'm getting tons of the stuff and its driving me mad.

before it leaves your mail server?? Did you mean to say before it is delivered to you? If yes then use spamassassin and add lines to $HOME/.procmailrc and/or /etc/procmailrc. You'll find plenty of resources on the internet.

Yes. Thanks thats it, what am I supposed to be writing.
We seem to be talking from two different levels. I need the info to be pretty basic. Sorry to seem so dumb.
Also do I HAVE to use Spamassassin in order to prevent the spam reaching or can this be done by Procmail?
