I too was facing problem but now I have dsniff installed on my system... Linux Fedora Core 4. This is how to do it ....

You got to have d following before installing dsniff ....

1. Libnet -- - This ones easy type >yum install libnet ...
2. Libnids --- This ones a bit tricky to install but if u install dis deres no way dsniff says no .... KNow get ready and download d following libnids (patch built) u require dis for fc4
http://www.enzotech.net/files/libnid...ixed-FC.tar.gz

no hold on b4 start compiling the libnids ... fc4 gcc compiler gcc4 which is supposed 2 b a sucker so u got 2 install compat-gcc-32 compat-gcc-32-c++ available on cd3 nd cd4 or just tyoe in "yum -y install compat-gcc-32 compat-gcc-32-c++" nd u have a compaitable gcc with u. Untar d libnids package u just downloaded and tyoe in d following commands

> export CC=gcc32
> export CXX=g++32
> ./configure --silent
> make -s
> make -s install

Did it compiled??? Good if yes nd if not den send me d error output... so nxt up(if it compiled and installs) without closing d shell compile nd install dsniff. U have dsniff with you.... if u face any problem with d process just send me d error nd d complete output ....

Happy sniffing

collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [dsniff] Error 1

My distro is Fedora 4, here is what I have installed:

libcap 1.10-22
libnet10 1.0.2a-8.fc4
libnids 1.20-1.2.fc4
openssl 0.9.7f-7
db4 4.3.27-3

I read the previous post about updating the gcc compiler and I have done that as well.

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
