Problems with XP/Mandrake dual boot

My problem is this. I am booting into both OSs fine but if I leave Windows running for an extended period of time, the computer will reboot into Linux (by default). This only started happening when I installed Linux. Anyone have this problem?

I don't understand.
If you leave Windows on and running, Windows will reboot by itself.

If you want to change the default boot OS, edit the default= line in your bootloader's configuration file (GRUB or Lilo).

hmm

for what reason your system is rebooting, i don't know. what version of linux are you using?

This is a long shot, and I'm guessing that if you turn on your box, and don't choose another os, it'll boot to linux.

Boot to windows, then go to Start > Control Panel > System. Click on the advanced tab, then in the 'Start up and Recovery' section, click 'Settings'. Uncheck the box under 'System Failure' that says 'Automatically Restart'

This is the default option on XP and 2000 I believe. If this does the trick, then you've got to figure out what's making your system fail, as it were.

Good luck.
