problems with wine and IE

Hello, I'm pretty new to Linux so reply's would preforably be in easy (non geek language) :P

In order to see my schedule and grades I need IE, cause the site won't allow login with any other browser. So I tried to emulate IE6 with wine on a SuSe box.

It works fine untill it says "unable to connect to internet bla bla" in the installer.
I have tried different guides on the net incl. google but nothing seems to work.

Here's my wine config.

Quote:
[wine]
"Windows" = "C:\\Windows"
"System" = "C:\\Windows\\System"
"Temp" = "X:\\"
"Path" = "C:\\Windows;C:\\Windows\\System;X:\\"
"GraphicsDriver" = "x11drv"
; Wine doesn't pass directory symlinks to Windows programs by default.
; Enabling this may crash some programs that do recursive lookups of a whole
; subdir tree in case of a symlink pointing back to itself.
;"ShowDirSymlinks" = "1"
"ShellLinker" = "wineshelllink"

# <wineconf>

[Version]
; Windows version to imitate (win95,win98,winme,nt351,nt40,win2k,winxp,win20,win30,win31)
"Windows" = "win98"
; DOS version to imitate
;"DOS" = "6.22"

; Be careful here, wrong DllOverrides settings have the potential
; to pretty much kill your setup.

i apologize that i do not have solution, but i would just like to say that I HATE that - my wife's employer has online stuff that can ONLY be accessed with IE. Makes me sick.
