Problems with Up2Date and Fedora Core 3

I have just installed Fedora Core 3 on a new machine and I have KDE as my GUI. I got the normal exclamation point for up2date to install new packages but the server hangs whenever I start downloading packages. Is there something wrong with my DVD? I got it from a magazine.

This is becoming really frustrating (the whole Redhat / Fedora thing) and im having problems with Debian as well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Try using yum instead of up2date

Any error messages will be verbose.

In a term,

yum update

Then answer Yes to updates or you might notice some error messages.

Thanks Cylix! That worked.

So is Up2Date a bad program to use or has RedHat eliminated it from Fedora?
