Problems with superkaramba

Please excuse me but I am a newbie to linux and i have been doing some research on how to install superkaramba. I tried to download the source files and when I ran ./configure I got:

configure: WARNING: libjpeg not found. disable JPEG support.
checking for Qt... configure: error: Qt (>= Qt 3.0) (headers and libraries) not found. Please check your installation!
For more details about this problem, look at the end of config.log.

that is what happens at the last few lines of configure.

Nothing works so I said screw it and downloaded the rpm for mandrake, which is what im using. It installs no problem but when I goto run superkramba I get:

Could not find platform independent libraries <prefix>
Could not find platform dependent libraries <exec_prefix>
Consider setting $PYTHONHOME to <prefix>[:<exec_prefix>]
'import site' failed; use -v for tracks

Now superkaramba does open and when i try to open a theme, the one I am trying to get to work is liquidweather, I get:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "liquid_weather.py", line 13, in ?

ImportError: No module named os
------------------------------------------------------
What does ImportError mean?

It means that I couldn't load a python add-on for liquid_weather.theme
If this is a regular theme and doesn't use python
extensions, then nothing is wrong.

again i know its something with python but I have no idea how to go about fixing this.

I am using mandrake 10

thanks

QT? What was the full package name? (or something a little more descriptive)

I have a similar problem.

I see that this is an older thread, but I'm having the same problem - I tried to install the qt devel package from Mandrake 10's installer but it wanted to overwrite my newer package with an older one, so I said no...
