Unhappy Problems with ststem reboot

Hi buddies, listen When I'm working on my SuSE Linux 9.2. and I decide to reboot my computer I do what it takes but the system doesn't reboot. The system tells me wait while system reboots but it doesn't happens I have to reboot it manually from the case button, Why??? It should reboot normally without me having to do it manually.
Help!!! by the way I share my hard drive with Windows XP but I don't thinkls that would be the problem because windows does restart normally.

Thnx!!!

SuSE, while logged in using KDE as a desktop???

my experience with KDE is great except for one peeve (arts) it is a sound server that can cause problems - (i install kde without arts), as it can cause logoff and reboot problems while logged in to KDE...

open the control center and disable the sound server, this should fix your problem...

there is a project i been watching and hopeing it takes off and makes progress called SimpleKDE http://www.simplekde.org/ (a lightweight kde fork (sortof))

the only sounds you will miss are the KDE desktop sounds...

things like xmms, mplayer, and other media players should still work just fine, of you have problems with it you can always enable the sounds again, look in the control center, in the tree where it says Sound & Multimedia > Sound System, just uncheck enable sound system, i am not suggesting you remove any software from your system...
