Problems with sound while gaming.

I've install the new demo of unreal tournament 2004 in other distros it works just fine but I'm using onebaselinux now and when I start UT2k4 it works just fine but for example if I start firing my gun the sound starts 2-3 seconds after I do it and ends 2-3 seconds after I've finished doing it. I've had this problem with fedora core 1 too but never figured out what it could be. My specs are: Kernel 2.6.7 Xorg 6.8.1 and my audio card is a ac 97' integrated in my Mother Board MSI. And in all other apps sound works fine is just in gaming that this happens.
-Thanks for any help you can give here.

Isn't there any configuration to the alsa-drivers that may be wrong? Is there a file I can put an output here to see which the problem is?
Edit: I see in the audio configuration of UT2k4 that system drivers is gray like if it were not seeing the alsa drivers in my Linux system. Is there anything I can do?
-Thanks
