problems with ntop and slackware 9.1

hi guys

I have a slackware 9.1 fileserver running here and I want to compile Ntop on it.
I downloaded all the files from the CVS server (so it's version 3) and I'm using libpng 1.2.5 (latest stable version).
when I run configure I get this error:
Code:
*******************************************************************
*
* ERROR: libpng header or library routines are missing
* (yes means it was found, no means it was not found)
*
*              png.h...yes
*              png_read_info() in -lpng...
*
*>>> No way to proceed.
*
*???        Install libpng (and/or libpng-devel), check www <dot>libpng<dot>org
*???    and Rerun ./configure
*
*******************************************************************
so I didn't found any information about libpng-devel.
the configure procedure said :
Code:
Support for this platform was most recently verified for
*     Slackware 9.1.0                ntop 2.2.98   on 2003-12-30
but thats version 2.2.98 of ntop and I can't find the source of that version...
I tried to overwrite the png.h with a lib from suse where the ntop already runs, the prob didn't change...

has anyone got a solution for this problem ?

thx in advance
grtz
