... that's better.

If you are in a hurry then you should seek paid tech support, we are all volunteers here. I'll have a look and get back when I can.

Lets see: Please be sure that the dispatcher and coordinator programs have been launched before you start a simulation. The error message suggest you that the connection between the dispatcher program and GUI fails or no available coordinator can be found.
http://nsl10.csie.nctu.edu.tw/piperm...ovember.txt.gz
... basically, you havn't run it correctly. Reread the instructions.

Did you run the proper commands over there.....those three commands viz ./dispatcher,./coordinator and ./nctunsclient...if so create one account apart from root...open nctunsclient go to toolbar menu -> dispatcher->username ..give your login name and password apart from root...coz it didnt accept root user....run the simulation it should work over there....if your problem still exist then your system is little slow so wait if still not coming then close all three windows and run it again ..it must work over there

It's just impolite. It may be urgent to you, but why does that mean that we should be any quicker with our unpaid tech support. I you want fast, appropriate, responses, you should do or say something that encourages that.

There are copious guidelines about writing these questions - yet you continue to demonstrate that you (a) don't core enough about the community to read them or (b) don't care enough about the community to put them into practice.

Since I know you are new, I am taking the trouble to point this out. Were you not new, I'd ignore you, and your problems. You will find guidelines under tutorials > LQ in the top bar on this page, and in the long advise in my sig.

Which things and what did you discover. This response is to provide no information for troubleshooting. Maybe you applied the suggestions incorrectly?

Then maybe you installed an update someplace that broke the more recent release. What made you suspect that downgrading would help BTW?

Anyway: good on yer for getting stuff going.

roxo: you are clearly correct. There are indeed forums which tolerate semi-literate and vague posts better and make no attempt to improve their communities. There is more of a tendency to uphold hacker ideologies here.

You have received nothing but considerate guidance and support.
Good bye, and better luck elsewhere.

dude how would you feel if someone just expected you to deliver a service that is your realm of expertee's with no payment, but not "oh when i can get to it", meaning "NOW" how would your react? i think you would react with "go stick your complaint where the sun don't shine" or something simmilar, we are willing to assist, but when we have time, we are volunteers, just like you, do you think we just sit around all day answering people's every whim?

hi, really need some help here.
I've just installed nctuns v4 on Fedora 12.
but when I type dispatcher or coordinator I get command not found.
I've tried checking for dispatcher and coordinator it is saying that unable to open cofiguration file, system exists please check if you have setenv NCTNUSHOME

is there anything more to the installation than clicking install.sh and setting the environment variables.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you really need help, then you should really read the LQ Rules and "Question Guidelines". You have re-opened a thread that has been closed for almost ELEVEN YEARS, and hijacked it with your own question. Further, you're using Fedora 12, with is ANCIENT...you are probably not going to get ANY support for such old software, simply because no one has used it in many, many years.

Open your own thread for your own question, and load the latest Fedora first.

NCTUns-allinone-linux-2.6.31.6-f12.20100113.tar.gz requires Fedora 12.
The package installs a kernel which will fit Fedora 12 only.

@sunil3014 : Welcome to LQ.

NCTUns info https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/tags/nctuns/
Fedora 12 repo https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...-4175579425/#2
PATH : https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...4175579174/#11

A quick fix for the PATH can be to copy /usr/local/nctuns/bin/<files> to /usr/local/bin/.
( nctunsxterm is just a symlink to /usr/bin/xterm ).
