Problems with installation of httpd-dev-2.0.40-8.i386.rpm
 

hi,
i have been tryin to install PHP and PERL today, but been havin problems.
1. After downloading the RPM for httpd-dev-2.0.40-8.i386 i tried to run an install by
rpm -i httpd-dev-2.0.40-8.i386.rpm
and
rpm -Uvh httpd-dev-2.0.40-8.i386.rpm

but i am getting an error message
error: httpd-dev-2.0.40-8.i386.rpm cannot be installed

please help if you can

this is being done as root and that is the EXACT error? add another -v flag to the end of the -Uvh and tells us what it says.
