Problems with graphics; what even causes this to happen in a short time?

I recently installed PCLinuxOS, 07.2013 edition.

Everything seemed fine. I am not running any unique desktop effects, or anything.

But in under a month, things are getting choppy again. When videos are being played, it gets choppy. Moving "dolphin/konqueror" around is no longer smooth, but rather, again, chopped up.

I don't recall this issue ever when I had the 02.2013 edition.

Part of me as been thinking of trying other distro, somewhat before this time. Although, I'm sure that's another topic somewhere else.

My main concern, why is this happening? The first time I installed the 07.2013, it was choppy at the start. I reinstalled something else, then tried this again, and it worked great! Now, it's bad again.

T'was I you, I'd post these issues on the PCLOS forum as I've found the vast majority of the members there to be extremely helpful...

I was there and they were pretty helpful. For personal reasons, I left the forum. I have returned here.

I don't think the burning of the ISO went well. It kept failing at about 98% complete.
For s**t and giggles, I tried installing it. It worked, but am getting graphical issues again. Enabling the desktop effects did help some, but now its getting bad.
