problems with freevo


having difficulties with freevo

When i try to play dvd its slow as hell and i have no sound

and when i try to play a cd-rom it just skips through the music and doesnt play them.

I know my system can handle the stress.

Im running Red HAt 8.0

It's probably because you are using the precompiled binaries that come with Freevo. Download and compile your own mplayer from www.mplayerhq.hu and then point freevo (in the freevo.conf I believe) to the actual location of YOUR mplayer, not the [crippled] one that comes with Freevo.
