problems with Enemy territory

I have been playing ET for a while on my Linux machine with no problems untill last night a friend send me a message via Kopete. I was booted back to my desktop to view the message.

Now the problem lies in that when I want to play the game again it just makes my screen VERY large and the game fails to load.

I was thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling but there doesn't seem to be an uninstall feature.

can someone please help me here.

p.s. please be easy on your reply's, and have only used linux for a little while.
