I'm having trouble getting dvd playback working again under linux. A few months ago I rented a copy of Finding Nemo for my son and managed to get it functioning properly. Today, I bought a copy and it seems to be broken. Here are my software versions:

Debian Sarge/Testing
linux kernel 2.6.8
Xine .99.1
libdvdnav4 0.1.9
libdvdcss 1.2.5
libdvdplay0 1.0.1
libdvdread 0.9.4
libmpeg2-4 0.4.0b-2

I get dropped frames, bad video (checker board type problem) and particularily xine outputs "libmpeg2: stream not demultiplexed ?" I can't seem ti find any information about why this would be occurring. If I try to use any other player (ogle, totem) X crashers. I haven't figured out the command line for mplayer yet. If it does anything different I'll repost.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Works fine under mplayer (although the full screen doesn't blow up to fill the display). Any idea why the other players wouldn't work fine? mplayer only uses 30% of the processor while xine used everything available.
