problems with debian testing with gnome 2.2 and sawfish 1.3

hi all...i`m having problems with my window manager or my desktop manager, i don`t know...:( it`s just that some icons, for example, the one at the desktop called " `user` Home", or the trash icon, etc, etc...just don`t show...it`s like some default icons that are SUPPOSED to come with the distro, are not installed...i use debian, i just upgraded to testing...i use Gnome 2.2, with Sawfish 1.3...what is it? :mad: i can`t stand to look my desktop like this...!

don't know what went wrong, however i post my relevant files in ~/.gnome-desktop:
bash$ ll /home/ale/.gnome-desktop/
totale 12
-rwx------ 1 ale users 131 2003-11-05 17:31 ale's Home
-rwx------ 1 ale users 123 2003-11-05 17:50 Trash
-rw-r--r-- 1 ale users 147 2003-10-05 23:17 wine.desktop

Home:
[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=ale's Home
Type=X-nautilus-home
URL=file:///home/ale
X-Nautilus-Icon=gnome-fs-home

Trash:
[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.0
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Trash
Type=X-nautilus-trash
URL=trash:
X-Nautilus-Icon=gnome-fs-trash-full

note that in 2.4 desktop dir is going to become ~/Desktop

Oh, if you actually see the text 'user's home' but not the ghaphics, check under desktop preferences/themes

Are your default icons somehow in a non-root partition? I had this problem with KDE in Debian because I had 'custom' icons in Desktop that were on HDA1 (not my root) so when I mount the partition I needed to reload KDE.

bureado: no, i don`t have them on another partition...it`s so strange, it never happened to me before...it`s like the default icons for gnome2 doesn`t appear...:s

ac1980: i just noticed that every icon that you had on your desktop had this line(home icon)--> X-Nautilus-Icon=gnome-fs-home
and trash icon------> X-Nautilus-Icon=gnome-fs-trash-full

i`m gonna check that in my box, if they had a line like that...now, do you know the path to those Icons? /usr/share/pixmaps?
