problems with Cygwin X tunnel through ssh

Im currently using CygwinX as an X server on a windows machine. Then using putty to tunnel to localhost:0 through ssh. Everything works fine, however when i run a program, say emacs, I can't seem to move the window. Is there anyway to fix this?

The reason is, when the program i made runs, it doesnt run at the top left corner of the screen. So half of it is cut off and I can't move it. It would be great if I can move it.

thanks

It sounds like you might be using the X window manager. If so, consider using just the X server.

For example, I just have a Windows shortcut on my desktop that points to:

C:\cygwin\usr\X11R6\bin\startxwin.bat
<= BY DEFAULT, JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING IN THIS SCRIPT IS COMMENTED
OUT, EXCEPT FOR "run XWin -multiwindow -clipboard -silent-dup-error"

IN PARTICULAR, THE SCRIPT DOES *NOT* DO AN "XSETROOT" AND
DOES *NOT* TRY TO INVOKE ANY X WINDOW MANAGER

In this case, I should be able to move/resize any window I want - because the "window manager" is MS Windows itself.
