Problems with apt and synaptic

Hello all

I recently installed apt and synaptic on my Fedora 2 installation to install and update rpm packages.

The first time I ran synaptic, it downloaded the packages I requested. When trying to install the packages, I got an error sayings there was no key for dag(a repository I added to the sources.list file). After this, synaptic doesn't install anything althought the error is for one particular package.

Is there a key I need from the dag repository to be able to install packages from there?

I don't see a queue.

I get the error, then the install dialog goes away and I get the normal synaptic interface.

It says at the bottom how many packages are to be installed. I had about 43 packages I wanted installed.

I tried just choosing one at time, but got the same error for each package.

try to type at the console :

apt-get -f install

This gives apt permission to force file installation and overwrite old files in order to install the problematic packages. This should be a safe bet

I had that same problem. I edited the sources list and added some repositorys.. I uninstalled apt and synaptic and downloaded the apt rpm from the dags site and the reinstalled synaptic from there and that got rid of the error message for me.
