Question problems while loading gnome 2.4

hi all,
I have mandrake linux 9.1 and right now using gnome 2.4 desktop. Wanted to try out gnome 2.4 . so used the GARNOME from site to install. Installation completed successfully but when i login through the graphical login manager of Mandrake( mdkkdm , mandrake version of kdm) selecting gnome 2.4, my login process stops at the splash screen. It gives me OAFIID: Gnome-SettingsDaemon error . It says it has not been able to configure my themes, sounds and stuff like that.

Anyone out there who can help me out.

P.S. Used fluxbox too. It is really COOL!!!!
