What's "better" depends on who you are and what your needs are. Linux is definitely better for me, but I would never presume that it would be for you.
Well better mean working the way it should be! Its as simple as that! Apparently it doesn't doing a simple task in LInux takes about a village to make it work! Having work arounds instead of limiting yourself or having to ask myself "Do I really need it?"!

Simple developers still force user to use command lines. This issue has been sooo long in process! And still is! Well I have posted another long as post in this forum. I remember someone replied by saying that the firefox buggy is not Ubuntu's fault! But is mozilla's fault! And hardware support is not their problem but the hardware companies problem.
There are so many problems in windows! I will not deny any of it. But I will admit workarounds are available! And are much much easier to do!

Again Linux or Ubuntu is community! Not a community of douches! Or least that's what its marketing campaign says. I will reiterate w/ work arounds! If you don't like IE. You always use firefox, OPera or Maxthor!
MS is company & will pursue its own interest! Again work arounds can be done & are easily made in windows & alternatives aren't too far behind either.

I tried making it work believe me! Its just that Ubuntu or Linux has this ridiculously steep learning curb! And refuses to work w/ many of what I have including my webcam1

This is ovbviously a troll. Pretending to be a noob on the one hand while making confident (and loud) claims about all that has been "wrong" with Linux for years on the other. Doesn't anyone notice that this doesn't make any sense? Not to mention the blatant nonsense: d4x doesn't support saving passwords? It doesn't split downloads? That is either nonsense or a user too lazy to even explore the menus.

It doesn't save passwords! It doesn't split a single downloads into several parts! Like Flashget! Your too stupid understand anyways! I know my ground in this issue! I don't care! This is the truth, debunk it if you can!

What part are you puzzle? The truth? I have problems about it! And I just voiced it! What's wrong w/ that?
Look if you choose to ignore this issue including the command line issue. Which one of the many gripe of ppl who are use to windows going into linux. Then so be it! If this is a community! Then feedback is important! And this is my feedback!
Do you think that this problems that I have are fictitious?
Do you think that I'm the only one having this command line probs?
Should Linux stay right where they are?
Or should asking for certain features bad for the community?
The objective of this is a challenge the developers who ever makes software in Linux!
Ppl who have either gotten from windows to ubuntu tend to compare experiences even though they are different becoz like it or not they could learn a thing or two in windows!
Are these problems unsolvable?
If they can't be solve & your happy or gotten use to the frustration, then you can't help me! Coz honestly there so many things that is needed to be done in this OS!

Saved passwords in d4x:

Split downloads in d4x:

Please take the time to have a least a cursory look through the available options. It saves a lot of irritation for all concerned.

Also, ad-hominem attacks on community members will get you nowhere. And please step away from the '!' key.

Dave
