problems using command "make"
I'm trying to install MPlayer on my __SUSE9.0__ system and am trying to set up my Matrox G400 video card using the instructions given in the DOC file downloaded with the mplayer tarball, which go as follows:
<This section is about the Matrox G200/G400/G450/G550 BES (Back-End Scaler) support, the <mga_vid kernel driver. It's actively developed by A'rpi, and it has hardware VSYNC support with <triple buffering. It works on both framebuffer console and under X.
<To use it, you first have to compile mga_vid.o:
<cd drivers
<make
I do so, and get the following error message:
<tim@linux:~/MPlayer-1.0pre4/drivers> make
<cc -O2 -D__KERNEL__ -DMODULE -include /usr/src/linux/include/ <linux/modversions.h -Wall -I/usr/src/linux/include -c mga_vid.c
<make: cc: Command not found
<make: *** [mga_vid.o] Error 127
I've run into problems with commands (such as make) not being installed by default but were on the disks to install if needed. I've not found "cc" on my disks, nor have I found mention of it.
Any ideas?
